A teacher
~~~~~~~~
I was totally impressed by the statement above. WHAT...are teachers such a talkative lot in the eyes of the public ? Some even stereotype teachers as the calculative kind. Haha... to many traders, they're scared to deal with customers whom are teachers. Teachers are said to be a fussy customers..hard to please...haha. True ah ?
Let me share one incident during my many out-station trips to several places in the Peninsular ....like Pulau Langkawi, Pulau Pangkor, Alor Setar, KL, Kota Bharu...attending professionalism courses during my 16 years in the service. The participants comprise of teachers from various schools all over Penang. In between the course, the teachers are normally given half a day off to perform their ritual routine "shopping and sight-seeing". As usual, one can see the teachers ventured out in groups to indulge in their fav activity.."SHOPPING".
These teachers would roamed wildly at the many outlets in town. Langkawi~ definitely chocolates are the main target...meanwhile Pangkor..of course are the salted fish , anchovies..and Kota Bharu...the best grabs are the keropok (prawn/fish cracker), batik.
I noticed the teachers are talented lot...including yours truly~la. We're are good at bargaining. We are capable of bringing down the price to 40-60% of the stated price. Our tongues wagged to get a cheaper price. The shop assistants aren't as good as us...and usually gave in after our sweet persuasions.
Teachers are the greatest shoppers....aren't we..? Do you still find ur boring and expect us to keep our mouth shut ?
