Bonding thru cooking

I had read this somewhere..."When the the umbilical cord is cut, the physical attachment between mother-child cease amicably.  This is when physical and emotional attachments begin."

Make sense !   Maternal or paternal bonding with their offsprings is important.

It's a norm for parents to take their children for holidays as they thought by doing so would make the kids happy.  With the hope that the happiness feelings would establish the closeness between them.
However, did the children enjoy the the trip ?  Have the adults ever reflect on this point ?  Sight-seeing, shopping, food tasting are usually part of the holiday's itinery.  Do the kids really like such activities? Do they fancy travelling long distance, bunking in hotels...?  Have we ever ask the children what they want ?

I believe, to enhance the mother-child bonding need not necessarily be done exclusively outside home. Even at home, there can be some form of activity which enabling closeness.

In a way, am supporting this idea, because I can't afford to take my boy for a holiday at present ~reasons my other commitments (my uni exams), lack of time, and financially not feasible.  Hey... no intentions what so-ever of seeking sympathy in this post...ok !

Bonding begins at home.  Thus, I decided to conduct a cooking session with my boy today. A partnership venture in the kitchen....producing....."Ann`licious Herbal Tea Eggs".

For a change.....Today's post is conducted in a pictorial form.  Enjoy !

The smiling chef .....ready to start.

Here are the ingredients. A dozen of eggs @Kampung eggs, dark soy sauce, brown sugar and a sachet of Herbal tea leaves (available at most chinese medicinal shop).
First, prepare the hard boiled eggs.

Carefully crack the eggs , remove the shells.
Put all the ingredients and eggs into the slow cooker. Let it simmer for 3 hours. Best leave it to cook over night at low heat.

Serve while hot.
Mission accomplished. His smile reflects happiness.

My boy enjoyed the bonding session with me.  Allowing him the cook the recipe hands-on.  This would boost his confidence as subconciously he would be proud of his ability cooking a dish by himself. An achievement....he could store in his memories and share them with his friends later.

Any comments dear readers..?
