Students' Adventure In school

My school organised an overnite camping activity ...held in the school premise last night. Our initial plan was to bring the children to MengKuang Dam but due to the recent Bridge tragedy...we decided otherwise. Lots of messy things to handle if any mishaps happen. Like the Malay proverbs "Malang Tak Berbau"

Therefore here we are expecting our students to camp in school compound. Mother's nature thrill added, it rains thru out the night. The students registered themselves at 3pm after their Friday prayers. I wasn't on duty yesterday but just drop in to check on them during dinner break.

Noticed the excitement drawn on their faces....as this could possibly be their first time away from home, away from the family...all on their own. Watching some of them...struggling to wash their own plates and cutlery...clearly proved their pamperedness at home. Look at that...the product of "mummy's son or daddy's daughter"...

The campfire was put on hold due to the rain. Out door activity were confined to the hall....whereby the children were taught to sings some group songs and perform short sketches which instill morale values.

Students had early rest @ 10.30pm to replenish their energy for the next day. Many were not able to sleep in such condition...hard surface, cramped in a small space, mosquito laden environment. Many were just chit chatting with their friends till wee hours.

The next morning, the students went for a mini hiking adventure @Cherok To'Kun Hill...another excitement though they struggled to walk up the steep road. I didn't join the trip as I wasn't involved in the morning shift. Moreover...I didn't want to exert myself too much due to my "advanced age"....
In addition, I have a class(my own) in the morning.

I only returned to school in the afternoon when the student were taught some living skills and a "Puberty Talk" by our school's counsellor. Meanwhile, I just sat behind doing some paperwork.

The students slept under these canopies last night in the rain. Hopefully they would appreciate their bed and mattress at home after this.
