Work, work and more work

It has been a very busy day for me here in my classroom. It is always hard to get my kids back in "order" after school breaks. A few days prior to the school break, my school organised our Annual Sports' Day. We used up the entire week to train the pupils in the various field events as well as the telematches involving the Std 1 and 2 students. As a results, the pupils had practically 'lost touch' with their books. Now, I have to spend some time to "re-adjust" their heart, mind and soul back to their school books. With that, I had to start from A to Z...in order to refresh their memory and gear them back to that momentum.

Next, my library. I have just ordered some new books for my library using the 2008 funds. About 100 books of various titles. Now my job is to key-in the books into the computer system. Get the bar codes. Paste the identification coloured stickers on the covers. Chop my library stamp on the first page of each book. This will take probably a month for me to complete the entire process even though my librarian students do give a helping hand. Don't forget, I'm not a full-time library teacher. I still have other duties besides taking charge of my school resource centre @library.

I also need to set up the Bulletin board for my library so that the students can contribute their writings for display. Need to encourage my students in their creativeness and writing skills.

Next, I have to see to my Yr 4 and 5 students who will be taking part in the inter-school "Choral Speaking" competition next week. Had been training them since January. Now all they need is some "polish up". Hopefully my team would win the top 5 position. At least all my hardwork doesn't goes down the drain.

And I was assigned to accompany 4 students (be their driver la) for a badminton tournament next Tuesday. I know nuts about badminton. Luckily my colleague is their to coach them. I play a role as their manager only. hahaha

Monday pula...I have to attend a meeting in PSPN (Pusat Sumber Pendidikan Negeri). This meeting is meant for all Guru Perpustakaan dan Media (GPM) in all schools in Penang state. FYI, every school has one GPM appointed by the Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri. And every year, all the GPMs would gather to plan activities..like Gerakan Membaca, Tokoh NILAM...etc.
Will ellaborate more if i have the time.
