All day work and no play...

Fixed myself a glass of milk to enable a good night rest later. Hopefully so...unlike last night whereby I was 'tango-ing' in bed the whole night. Insomnia syndrome...

It was a tiring day as I was doing paperwork in my school @ library whole afternoon just now. Vigorously typing on the word processor....non stop till my eyes almost jumped out and my finger bleeds and ...haha...so serious meh..? Exaggerating though... worth the afternoon spent..coz managed to complete my "PSS Perancangan Strategik 3 Tahun" after much cut & paste procedures....hey no la..I proofread after typing. Was copying only the rightful ones....not blindly. Another workload off my shoulders. Another two pending paperworks are the minutes of last week staff meeting (I was on duty last week therefore have to be the secretary) and my PSS Perancangan Tahunan for 2010.

Gone to a nearby hawkers' centre for dinner with my boy. I had clay pot chicken rice and he took chicken chop. Came home immediately after that and started to mark my students' exams sheets. In the meantime, I got into Facebook and also chatting occasionally with my friends. # in 1 but my main concentration was the exams papers. Don't worry..Am a multi tasked person.

Just completed one set @ one class of 38 students. Still have two more classes to go. Should be able to finish by Tuesday.

Mark papers

Feeling moody today.......

Exams over which means I'm being showered with bundles of exams sheets to mark over the weekends. Sigh...

Who dare says a teacher's job is easy, nice holidays......come to me and I'll give u long lecture pertaining to this issue.

Thanks God that I've managed to complete my uni assignments yesterday. I was fully tied up with my HBHE 3103 that I practically abandoned everything else yesterday. That was how I get so engrossed with my uni projects each and every semesters. I'm a perfectionist...remember.

Since I'm done with my uni stuff, I can now switch my concentration on my school's chores @ marking exams papers. My aim is to finish marking all those papers, get the marks ready, key-in the marks...summit the soft copy to my Exam Secrectary on
Monday. Should able to settle with this by coming Tuesday.
Meanwhile, I also need to do some revision as I'll be having a mini test during my coming tutorial next week.
Wishing for excellent time management....or work would be bumper to bumper.

Busy Ann

Am glad that I've finally completed my HBHE 3103 assignment. Will proofread and edit them tmrow, then print plus bind them. Well done, Ann. Give a pat on my shoulders.

It's good that I managed to finish it today. Perfect timing as tmrow I'll be anticipating another workload...marking exams papers. This year, my school made a wrong decision to brought forward the year end exams towards almost the tail of the year. We only have 3 weeks b4 the school semester ends. Therefore, it's gonna be a mad rush for us teachers to race against the clock to mark those exams sheets. Rush thru to get the marks for all the various subjects and then sum them up for a total percentage, get the students' position and finally do the streaming for next year's classes.

Not only the above, teachers holding the Panel Head posts like myself Guru Perpustakaan dan Sumber (GPM) has to come out with the Strategic Plan for 2010, 3 years Tactical Plan...draft out the budget for next year perusal, stock checking and complete the stock record book. Actually all these are merely paper work....nobody reads them except the writer. Doubt that my bossvnor the Education officers read between the lines. Nevertheless, still need to be careful as I might fall into my trap if I write something "impossible to be implement". Hot soup if things go awry.....like if the Education Minister from Putrajaya decides to pay us a visit....

For next two weeks ahead....spells a four letter word. B U S Y

Makan-Makan with colleagues

Staff meeting after school dismissed today. Dragged for almost 3 hours and caused so much stress to those in the meeting room. Some were already in dreamland half way thru....

Despite the long hours, nothing being done except talking "cock and bull story". Sigh..!

Gone out with a few colleagues to chill up after a long "beat around da bush" meeting. Makan-makan to unwind.....

Monday Blues

Went back to school as usual....on Monday. Didn't expect it to be my duty week. Luckily I wasn't late (I mean real late...). Still have 1o minutes to set up the P.A system for the Monday official assembly. Monitored my prefects to arrange the chairs for the teachers. Fixed the microphone and prepared the radio and opps.....the CD was missing. Without the CD, the national anthem, state anthem and school's songs don't have back up music. The choir has to sing based on the their own vocal. Missing....who was the culprit who took it...the teacher on duty last week is the 1st suspect.

Searching high and low....look into every crook and corner...finally I found it on my Principle's room. It was lying on her table among her other things. Opps.....why on earth did she take this CD...? Wondering...!!!!!

CD found, problem solved. The assembly went on smoothly like any other Mondays....
While giving my speech, I warned the students not to misbehave this week as they will know the outcome from me if they do anything silly. I hate to write reports pertaining to students' disciplinary wrongdoings..etc. Hate to deal with parents who come with endless complains. On my duty week, I want a smoothsailing week. Don't like the hassle of running here and there helping to solve unneccesary problems which should not have occur in the first place.

The teachers had a photography session today. We hired a proffesional photographer this time around. The theme was blue....and yours truly was beautifully donned in a light blue blouse to match the occasion.

Wearing blue..that's why am experiencing Monday blues....

Assignment

Attended long draggy lectures the entire day at IPTB from 8am till 3pm. Sitting and forcing myself to listen to long winded talks hours after hours really drains off my energy.

Need to rush my final assignment for this semester @ HBHE 3103. Fighting against the date line @ 8 Nov. It's ain't easy. Despite having a whole stack of notes and references materials, am still facing difficulty writing it. Why..you may ask. Well..this is related to sports training and I totally have no idea on the game of football. But required to apply the FITT principles in the training regime of this boy's fav. game. As I have never bother read nor find out about football, I'm having zero knowledge on this sports. In fact, I never set any interest in this sports....not even the football craze like who joins which team and such !

Anyone out who knows what is this "FITT Principles", the application of these 4 principles for football athletes. Please pleae...email me at annlim07@yahoo.com. ASAP...please...! I don't mind paying you for the service. Just let me know the figure and we can negotiate from there. I'm dead serious..ok.

Let me just brief u what I've found.

"The FITT principles.....well these rules relate to the Frequency, Intensity, Type and Time of exercise...
These four principles of fitness training are applicable to individuals exercising at low to moderate training levels and may be used to establish guidelines for both cardio respiratory and resistance training. "

Well this is only the definition....I need to relate it to Football training programme. As a coach, what are my plans and how do I go about applying these rules in my training.

Don't you think the person who set this assignment question is out of his/her mind ? Very gender bias. And it totally sways out from the subject that I'm studying. Need to lodge a complain to the uni...

Anyone with knowledge of this FITT principles...plese email annlim07@yahoo.com

Busy Ann

Lots of things to settle this weekend. ...sigh

My uni ~ HBHE 3103 assignment, read up my modules for tomorrow's tutorial
My school ~Aktiviti PSS-Laporan Tahunan 2009 , Minutes of PSS meeting, ...
My home ~ Clear up the mess in the kitchen cabinets, curtains need washing, car need vacuuming......

Time constraint...was in school the entire Saturday morning @RIMUP programme/Jamuan Muhibbah. Am supposed to start doing my assignment but eyes felt too tired. Therefore am here blogging the nonsensical ....

For my HBHE 3103 assignment, I've already collected a reasonable amount of materials and just needed to rearrange them accordingly, put into proper words, paraphrasing the sentences and ...but feeling lazy to do so. Hey...am not copy and paste my assignment as I don't wanna be label as plagiarisms ! I do read up and done some research though not much but at least I understood what I write. Always produced sensible good quality assignments throughout my previous semesters.

It's gonna be a long busy day tomorrow as I'll be attending my 3rd tutorial. Will be summiting my HBME 3103 assignment and hope than my lecturer would give me good grades for a job well done..ahem ahem. Have included a CD which have a recording of my real-life teaching practice as part of my assignment.
Oh Gosh...really do need a break. Will take a proper rest , a thorough sleep tonight.

The Murale

Spent another 2 hours giving the final touch up to the stage and backdrops. All went well...everything turned out lovely. Yup to Ann's standard. Boleh~lah. Hey..this is my maiden job decorating a stage for a function. Give some credits to me ..la.

Here are the pictures.

Yesterday....only the murale existed....but a bare stage !

But today....see the changes with Ann's magical touch..

Artist of the day

Spent half a day....managed to create a lovely murale on our school's stage. My school is hosting the R19 Kelompok's RIMUP programme this Saturday. FYI to those who aren't in the teaching line, RIMUP is a specially design programme to promote integrity among the three races of Malaysia.
This RIMUP programme is intended to create a safe space for the exchange and sharing of ideas, facilities, equipment, expertise and personnel between the different school communities, including teachers and parents.

The philosophy behind it is to enhance race unity. Therefore, 9 schools from our Kelompok comprising of Malay, Chinese and Tamil schools (both Primary and Secondary) will be invited to this programme.

Apart from this RIMUP programme, we'll be having a "Makan Party" which comprises of food and recipes of the three races.........Therefore, we teachers and students will indulge in this makan session with our hungry stomachs.

Yours truly is in charge of the stage decor. Haha...am not the "Eric Leong" thing, don't even have any of his talents. But my boss assigned me to take charge of the stage. Therefore, I teamed up with 3 other teachers and we decided to have the bottom portion of the stage wall painted with flowers. We intend to have a garden theme of sort.

With some pencils and chalks, I drew outlines of flowers, grass and butterflies. Initially it looked like kindie's masterpiece. But after some colouring and shading, it does turn out great. From far, it looked good...really. The stricking colours do stand out. Let the pictures do the talking.

This Friday, I'll put up the backdrops andplace some flower pots surounding the stage. My team members are still harvesting the alphabets made of styrofoams in the library. Once, thery're ready, we'll paste the wordings on the stage using Powerful adhesive tapes. This time around, we decided to go "cloth-less" , meaning we're not going to place any curtains or kain for the backdrops. The cloth materials cum curtain are messy and difficult to maintain. I discussed with my boss last week that we intend to draw a permanent murale at the bottom of the stage and she agrees. Compared with my previous boss whom fancies curtains and railings....my new boss is a simple lady. She wants a simplier stage decor. Good thing for me...as I'm not an artisan.

This is the first part of my decor. Partially done. Take a good look at the bottom of the stage wall. The lovely floral design which took us half a day to complete.

Will post the 2nd part tmrow.

Jagung

Went to the pasar malam last night. Bought a bunch of Taiwan sweet corns @ 11 for RM8. Reasonable price as they were quite huge and best of all..they're fresh, I mean they looked fresh. My boy loved sweet corns. Steamed it, make soup, roasted....anything suits his royal tongue. YA..he really loved jagung.

I placed two into the crockpot with some chicken ribs and red dates before I leave for school. It would be great for our lunch and dinner later. The sweetness emit by the jagung into the water....makes the soup ummph !

Put another two in the oven. Spread butter sparingly onto the kernel. Bake for 15 mins in high temperature. Turn the corn occasionally. When it's done, spread some honey. Eat while still hot but beware of your lips. These jagung bakar would make a great tea time meal. I'll have both for myself as my boy will be in school. I'll keep the remainder for him. Thought of making some pop corns for snack. And keep the stems for soup. Nothing goes to waste in Ann's household.

Poor Foot

My right foot ....felt some itchy sensation all morning but was too busy to take notice. My lessons were full all day today. My Tuesday timetable is pretty packed. Wished the Deepa holidays extended till Tuesday...haha.

Alright, back to my itchy foot tales.

Last evening, while doing spring cleaning in my balcony cum store room..... I looked down to see a small red ant writhing around on my foot. I tried to brush it off but he wouldn't come off. On investigating more carefully, I could see that the pinchers were under my skin and he was clutching on me real hard. Tug-of-war between us. Eventually, after some wrestling, both of us got disentangled and went our separate ways.

It was so humorous that I didn't have the heart to kill this lil guy. I forgave him for causing me this lil agony on my foot. After all it was merely a small bite.

I soon forgotten about this incident.

However, during shower today, noticed swollen spot on my food. Reddish spots , the size of a 10 cents coin. Ya..the after effect left by Mr. Ant yesterday.
It had a tiny black head on it and popped out. Now my foot is swollen and red, with the black spot still in the middle of it.

Though not quite painful but it really itch. If I continues to scratch, then the entire skin is gonna peel off. Applied some oitment to ease the itchiness....! Guess there's no need to see the doc...just a small matter which will disappear in no time.

Laziness got over me.

Three days passed by without me doing much...I meant I didn't touch a single word of my final uni assignment, am supposed to complete by this weekend..sigh ! The lazy Ann. Well..the past few days, no flow of ideas, even though I tried hard to squeeze...but nothing ooze out from my brain cells....perhaps the 'wires' up there gone onleave..!

Just felt lazy thru the weekends. Can't figure out why ? Blame it on my hormones...ya..it's THAT time of the month. hmmmm...perhaps.

Wanted to sleep but can't close my eyes ...

Wanted to do shop but don't have the mood.

Wanted to eat but don't have the appetite.

What's wrong with me ...huh?

Vegetarian Days

Today will be the start of a nine day vegetarian fast. This ritual is usually observed by some Taoist Chinese during the Nine Emperor Gods Festival.

A day after all those mutton curry with thosai...now we're attempting to abstain from meat for 9 days..! Well...I'm not discipline well enough to adhere to this practice. Therefore, I will only go on veggie on the 1st and the last day throughout this festival. Don't have the will power to adapt myself into the herbivorous nature. Hey..God created us as Human...right?

Arrays of veggie dishes......

Happy Diwali to those who celebrate the Festival of Lights.

Ann's Nasi Goreng

Friday....and holiday for me. Woke up slightly later than usual...wanna enjoy the softness of my comforter.....rarely got the chance to get up late, therefore grabbed the golden opportunity. If not of the chirping birds just outside my window, I would have slept longer. Nuisance. Ain't soothing at all....like what people say..."It's nice to wake up with the sound of welcoming chirping birds"....It's more of a disturbance to me. Shoooooooooooo

Brunch...mmmm
Have some left over rice from yesterday's in my fridge. Great...nasi goreng for two. My boy's school doesn't take extra Deepa off like mine. Therefore, he still has to attend class, moreover he's having in exams.

And nasi goreng is a well balanced meal...all in one. Will try to make it as nutritious as possible. Who says nasi goreng is bad food? I could have added lots of ingredients in it but my boy prefers plain one. Therefore..only eggs and chicken meat.
The skills of combining leftover rice with just any other leftovers like meat, fish, veggie and turn them into one decent complete meal...
It takes some practice too in order to make sure the fried rice comes out smelling good and taste yummy. Any ordinary folks could wok a plate of fried rice but not all turns up tasty.

Here's Ann's version. Instead of vegetable oil, I used a butter substitute. It gives a nice fragrant to the rice. I have my garlic thinly sliced. Make sure the rice are properly smashed into pieces...tiny grains rather than in clumps. Prepare the mixture of light soy sauce, pinch of salt. pepper. Fried egg omelette and bull's eye......one each. Set aside. Heat the butter, add in the slices of garlic. Put in the rice. Stir well. Add the ingredients of chicken meat. and sausage sliced. Lastly, pour in the micxture of sauce....stir well. Served. My boy likes white fried rice, therefore I avoid dark soya sauce. Garnish with some spring onion (my boy doesn't eat this, therefore I didn't cut them into small pieces), tomatoes and cucumbers. You can even have sliced hard boiled eggs.

Easy...! A meal done in minutes with minimal preparations.

Empty Blog

Starting from today, I'll be 'enjoying' a four days away from school in conjunction with the Festival of Lights. A long weekend as well as a good timing for me to complete my uni assignment. The last piece ! Had already completed two...! This sem, I was pretty lucky that the questions were not tough..and not easy either. It's just that I know what my lecturers wanted and I just move along the track. Hope to be able to complete my HBHE3103 paper by this week. After that, I want to fully concentrate on my revision. But before that, it's year end and definitely I have lots of loads in school. Therefore, time is pretty limited.

On another story, I was pretty disappointed with my previous sem's results. Just because of one draggy paper, my entire grades were pulled down. Why does that have to occur all the time...every semester..? All "A s" and suddenly a culprit of B- emerged from no-where ! Every semesters....since my 1st sem. Only manage to obtain once @Dean List out of 5 semesters. Pretty frustrating especially after all the hardwork. Don't think I'm that bad ! Hey come to think...I'm not that bad, though...coz my worst result is a B-. Never gone below that. Ok lah....to pacify myself. Guess the examiners are biased in many ways...."Kulit-fication"

Another 'rojak day'...blogging about all kinds of things. Let's see if tomorrow..I could come up with interesting stuff to blog about.

Scarry fire scene

I found this in you tube. I need to use this clip as part of my uni assignment. Need to incorporate a fire scene in my lesson plan. Therefore, this is a perfect one.

At the dentist

Went to the dentist this afternoon. This is my 3rd canal treatment. Gradually the pain diminished and for the past weeks...no pain anymore. Which means, my veins and nerves are dead. (How sad !). Now, my molar won't be receiving any nutrient as the veins are no longer alive. That's why I feel no pain....!

In a month time, my dentist would fix a crown to my tooth. I seceretly took some snap shots at the treatment room when no one was around.

Secretary

Mr. Lim's secretary

Mr. Tan: Your secretary is very sexy.

Mr. Lim: Thanks, it's a robot from Japan. Her name is Sweetie. If you squeeze its right breast it takes notes and if you squeeze the left it types. I'll lend it to you for a day and you can see for yourself.

Next day Mr. Tan called from hospital and shouted :

You IDIOT, you didn't tell me Sweetie's pussy is a pencil sharpener.

Ahh......relieved !!!

What a RELIEVED....! Managed to complete my HBEL 3103 ~Writing and Teaching of Writing's assignment in within 2 weeks. I didn't expect my flow of ideas could splash such smoothly over the weeks. It's not even my 2nd tutorial yet but I had already finish my paper. My luck...my hardwork...and thanks to the 10 days Raya break. With not much clashes with my school work enables me to concentrate solely on my assignment.

Will be doing the final touch up tonight before I bind them. And then, tomorrow, I'll start on my HBME 3103 Pendidikan Moral Tahun 4. Hopefully, I could finish it by next week. Still awaiting for my HBHE 3103 Kesihatan Diri & Keluarga assignment to be publish in MyLMS. Hopefully a little later so that I could concentrate on my Moral paper first. One at a time...so that they don't messed up.

Another story, my last semester's results were out. Quite disappointing in a way. Was expecting to score a distinction for my Phonetics & Phonology paper...but only managed an A-. and to make matter worst, my Professional Ethics paper....brought my entire CGPA crumbling down. This paper is the culprit of me not getting my Dean's List this semester. Suspected something fishy ...the examiners must be BIASED...! Arghhhhhhh

Ann the Bowler

In the midst of struggling with my uni assignments.....I wanna a break. My brain screams for a rest. Gone for bowling yesterday to de-stress. And it does help a lil. But I've gotten some minor pain on my arms due to the exertion of my muscles...long time no exercise. Guilty...guilty....

Guess what....Am representing my school in a bowling competition, organised by our state education department. What a joke...me the famous "Longkang bowler" !

My team comprises of three teachers including yours truly. FYI, yesterday was our first and once of a life time training session and we will be heading our way to the competition tomorrow. My last throw at the bowling alley was more than a decade ago during my college days. And now in my late 30s, having me return to the alley. Never mind...Young at heart..!

I was informed that there'll be 20 teams altogether from 10 participating schools in our 'daerah'. My team, we named ourselves "Permai Princess".

My main focus now is to bring down as many pins as possible and collect points for my team so that we could bring home a trophy and make my school proud.

And I justfound out that bowling is a good form of exercise. It helps in burning calories and works muscle groups not usually touched. The flexing and stretching works tendons, joints, ligaments and muscles in the arms and promotes weight loss.....WOW. Look at thta...all the benefits.

It also has psycho-social benefits for it strengthens friendships among us colleagues in school. We see each other day in day out and at times got entangled in office politics. In a game of bowling, we can brush aside the feud and get closer......Don't you think it's wonderful ?

Bowling

Had a session of bowling with my colleague this afternoon...to de-stress.

Empty Head

Am stucked with my uni assignments today. On Tuesday, I experienced a sudden downpour of ideas as they flowed out like a fountain. I managed to complete almost half of my HBEL 3103 English paper. I had this unique inspiration to write and my ideas burst and erupted like a grossed volcano. I thought this eruption would continue for another day or so.....but it just stopped. Didn't expect it to be short-lived.

I'm suffering from mental blockage now.. Nothing in my head. Sigh..!

I hope am able to complete at least one by this week which I doubt. I wanna have a tsunami brain attack soon so that I could finish off my English paper.
