Ann's Nasi Goreng

Friday....and holiday for me. Woke up slightly later than usual...wanna enjoy the softness of my comforter.....rarely got the chance to get up late, therefore grabbed the golden opportunity. If not of the chirping birds just outside my window, I would have slept longer. Nuisance. Ain't soothing at all....like what people say..."It's nice to wake up with the sound of welcoming chirping birds"....It's more of a disturbance to me. Shoooooooooooo

Brunch...mmmm
Have some left over rice from yesterday's in my fridge. Great...nasi goreng for two. My boy's school doesn't take extra Deepa off like mine. Therefore, he still has to attend class, moreover he's having in exams.

And nasi goreng is a well balanced meal...all in one. Will try to make it as nutritious as possible. Who says nasi goreng is bad food? I could have added lots of ingredients in it but my boy prefers plain one. Therefore..only eggs and chicken meat.
The skills of combining leftover rice with just any other leftovers like meat, fish, veggie and turn them into one decent complete meal...
It takes some practice too in order to make sure the fried rice comes out smelling good and taste yummy. Any ordinary folks could wok a plate of fried rice but not all turns up tasty.

Here's Ann's version. Instead of vegetable oil, I used a butter substitute. It gives a nice fragrant to the rice. I have my garlic thinly sliced. Make sure the rice are properly smashed into pieces...tiny grains rather than in clumps. Prepare the mixture of light soy sauce, pinch of salt. pepper. Fried egg omelette and bull's eye......one each. Set aside. Heat the butter, add in the slices of garlic. Put in the rice. Stir well. Add the ingredients of chicken meat. and sausage sliced. Lastly, pour in the micxture of sauce....stir well. Served. My boy likes white fried rice, therefore I avoid dark soya sauce. Garnish with some spring onion (my boy doesn't eat this, therefore I didn't cut them into small pieces), tomatoes and cucumbers. You can even have sliced hard boiled eggs.

Easy...! A meal done in minutes with minimal preparations.
