Busy weekend

Experienced a long tiring busy weekend. Attended a reunion with my former classmates on Saturday nite....as usual when we girls meet up, we would chat till the cows go home....from past history to future visions and plans..! A variety of topics and gossips..who married whom and who separated, affairs, working life, family matters, recipes, fashion. Many occasions, our laughter's broke into loud roar as we reminisces the happy days of our childhood. We chatted and chatted...till past midnite..phew time flies.

On Sunday, I attended my tutorial. I turned in late as I overslept, supposed to start at 8am. Anyway, I was just an hour late...small matter ! LOL..

My class dragged till 4pm. Came home, had a quick shower and change outfit..off to my former headmistress's house @ her son's wedding. A Malay reception~ nasi minyak with chendol. As I didn't had lunch, I walloped a huge plate of rice. By the way, the chicken curry was indeed tasty. My son had the privilege to solemnised the wedding by sprinkling scented water onto the bridal couple palms......the "bersanding" ceremony. He was really happy and treasured in his memory for life. His first trip to a Malay wedding... ! He was excited to see the bridal dias as well as the bridegroom's kris. He did learn about the famous Malacca warrior~ Hang Tuah in his Bahasa texts book... (hey...I have something to share about Hang Tuah...later)

He doesn't seems to get tired talking about the event till today. He carefully kept the 'bunga telur' in his drawer. Hopefully, he isn't thinking of marrying a malay girl in future.....I don't wanna loose my son simply because of belief and religion !

An interesting news about Hang Tuah, I received an email a few days ago. It seems Hang Tuah is of a Chinese lineage and not from Malay background. Noticed the "Hang" surname in all the five warriors ~ Hang Tuah, Hang Jebat, Hang Lekiu, Hang Lekir and Hang Kasturi. Not forgetting the chinese princess whom became Sultan Mansor Shah's consort is also a "Hang" @ Hang Li Po. They are actually Chinese and not Malay as stated in our Malaysian Sejarah books. The five brothers were sent to Malacca to protect the Sultan from the frequent thread from the Siamese kingdom. The Chinese emperor at that time had close ties with the Malacca Sultanate.
Malacca's stories used to impressed me when I was young.
