On my way back from school just now, I stumbled upon this lady probably in her 60s (judging from her haggard look). She was busy ransacking the heap of garbage. She searched frantically for cash among the trash oblivious of the presence of onlookers.
Many a times.....we don't realised that many of our discarded items are treasure to these people who can make money out of them.
I observed her for a good ten minutes as she continued with her treasure hunting.
She carefully filled the gunny sacks with stuffs that she recovered from the site.
The protruding hump emerging from her back must be the results of the daily weights.
I sympathized with her.
Unfortunately, I'm unable to do much to help her. Guilty..la.
I wonder...where are her children ?
This incident makes me reflect upon what would happen to me .....four decades from now.
Am I going end up like her ?
What will my twilight years be ?
Is my son going to neglect me as well?
Remembering Doris Day's number....
"Que sera..sera...what ever will be will be...The future's not for us to see"
Perhaps..I need to draw up a plan for my retirement age now.
Or else my fate would be similar like this old lady.
HOPEFULLY NOT
What say you ?
