Chap Goh Mei

十五暝  Chap Gog Mei...refers to the fifteenth and final day of the Chinese New Year celebration.  This occasion is marked by celebrations of makan-ing (feasting) and various festivities like praying.  It is also the chinese version of valentine's day.  Instead of the cupid arrows, the tangerine oranges played a major role in match making !!! 

As for me....It's just a day just like any other day.  Nothing significant about this night except that I do notice the crowd and massive traffic jams everywhere.  Went to a chinese temple to join in the excitement and fun.  It's just a stone throw away from my place.  Paying respect to the deities at the temple. 

Huge giant joss sticks caught my attention though.....wow big giants but very beautiful ones.  Admiring the matching colours of pink and red.  At a closer inspection, the designs are of 'dragon & phoenix'.  Very unique.  And salute the craftmen for such intricate art work !!!  What a waste as these handsome joss sticks will be burnt to ashes by tomorrow morning ....
By the way, each stick belongs to an individual as there's a note written in chinese of the said owner of the joss stick being offered to God.  Seeking prosperity, weatch, health and etc.

The 1st full moon for this year...hmm..that's the best my 'cheapo camera' could capture.
