With the date lines around the corner, I'm beginning to feel the "DESSERTS"....read from the back !
Assignments are pilling up and so are my school loads....... I've been lazy and have not been doing any assignments, so hence, am now rushing to finish all of them. Typical. I know.
Have to attend tutorial today. Long Sunday ....till 4pm!!!!!

Final Assignments
"How's the progress?”
“Not good but still under control..” I replied, mentally bracing myself for the follow up question…
“Completed how many %?”
Hmmmm....was exchanging sms es with a fellow friend just a while ago. Date line 14 November....still a long way to go...oh not really ! Remember 'time flies'.
This time around, I was pretty laid back and seems not in the mood to complete my assignments early as I previously did. This is my final semster...Ya my final three papers and I will be a free woman ! (For the past 3 years was like life imprisonment, a life sentence...never ending ! And finally...everything is gonna finish soon. Ah...what a relieve !
Alright, back to my assignments. This semester, I'm taking these papers as followed :-
i ) Literature (not my cup of tea)
ii) Linguistics & Language Teaching
iii) Morphology, Syntax and Semantics (very theorical stuff)
All 3 assignments require vast reading and surfing. Cannot simply 'goreng' coz they want facts. Am actually doing mini research right now. My literature assignment 60% done. My Linguistics still pending...meanwhile my Morphology still untouched !
The past few days, I was suffering from PMS, therefore I used that as an excuse for being 'lazy'.
Thanks to my workload in school...the rigorous year end inventory reports, PKSR exams (my students' Final Year exams).......and the extention of school hours (7.45am ~ 2..15pm). This trial system of incorporating our Co-Curricular activities during school hours. Students attended their normal lessons in the morning and stayed back for games, Clubs and Uniform Units immediately after school (Mon-Thurs). Going home late means that I have shorter afternoons to concentrate on my assignments. My soul, brain and mind were pretty exhausted by then.
Multi-tasking; cramming extra hours into the day; increasing efficiency; decreasing sleep....hmmm...this doesn't work for me. It actually makes life more complicated. I've gotten more run down !
Therefore, I planned to concentrate fully on my assignments during this upcoming festive holiday. 4 days during the festive of lights. 4 solid days of full concentration should be enough, I guess.

My Lucky 20.10.2010
Today...20.10.2010 spells a lucky day for yours truly. Though suffering from PMS but a lil gift cheers up the gloomy day. Won a mini hamper during our Teacher's Co-Op half yearly lucky draw. I have a rare 'luck' in winning lucky draws. Slim chances always...But today my lucky stars must had shone brightly ...what more on 20-10-2010 (auspicious day...)

Confussed Hormones
The bloated sensation still persist...! Everything seems to get on my nerves the entire day. Be it little or huge...! It must be my hormones...those crazy hormones surged thru my body as if I was plugged into an electric live socket....
During those days, am practically not myself. I would get depressed (mild), angry, so touchy (emotionally) and I'm unable to stand any noise. My mood swings...I should say.
This feeling won't subside till the 2nd day of my P. And it would go off there after....
But right now...I'm going berserk over the razing hormones...
However, I would like to stress here that no body, no animal or no live would be victimised during this period. It's merely me and my body. It doesn't affect the people surounding me.
Am coping with this for many years now. Coping well. For a couple of days, I would be out of my usual character and then return to normal self. It ocurs in a cycle...

Phantom Period of PMS
It's the time of the month again...grrrrrr! Am feeling groggy the entire day. Can't concentrate in school, neither do I at home. The uneasiness driven me up the fence! Tummy bloating. Feeling the flatulence...nauseating..
Am fighting with one of the fiercest hormonal battles of my life.....every month without fail. I hated it when aunty comes visiting. But in a way, if it doesn't visit, then I might be worry death. It's like "ada pun susah, takla lagi susah" kinda thing.
Will be touching 40 in a couple of months....So, technically, the dreaded work is approaching. Huh...the “around or about menopause” It's arriving but not completely here yet. Scary la. I guess , during my mother's time, they called it "going through the change". Every woman has to face it one day !
Anyway..back to my PMS, ouch...my tummy and lower abdomen is so bloated and am feeling so uncomfortable (words can describe). Felt terribly wrong the whole day. The gassy sensation inside...makes me feel like vomiting. The swelling bulge, water retention........very unsightly. Looked so damn ugly in tight fitting dresses or skirt. Mirrors are banned during such bloated days.
Tummy damned painful as if it's exploding....hormones go crazy. The tenderness feeling on the 'chest', makes wearing wired bra seems uncomfortable. Good news, during this time, no need the aide of push ups to turn A to B. Haha....
Sigh..this happened every month...be it I like it or not...I've endured this pain almost 2 decades.

The big M.....n signs or signals that it is coming…..it just shows up, unannounced - and definitely uninvited. It's fact....the big 4~ ol..hormones and rocking and rolling...attempting to find a new place to settle down. So that SHE can begins Volume 2 of her life. While that is happening there is great turbulence.

Flying Colours
All my hardwork pays off handsomely. My recent uni exams...was a 4 flat. My current CGPA is 3.69....a lil bit more to hit my target of 3.75 in order to achieve 1st Class.
Last semester, I haven't got the time to revise proper as I was busy with my research paper and another 3 assignments. Added to my heavy workload in school, I wasn't really prepared for my exams. Frankly speaking, I did not finish the entire modules. was just glancing thru here and there, concentrating on my own spotted topics. Psycholinguistics and Sociolinguistics were two tough as well as confusing.
Thanks to my lil Bamboo...I managed to get thru excellently. Am proud of myself.....
Giving myself a pat ....Well done, Ann.

I love Bamboo
A good friend of mine told me that bamboo emits lots of luck to us. Especially students who need to pass endless examinations. Though bamboo is only green but it gives flying colours to those who believe in it. I was sceptical innitially as I wasn't someone superstitious. However, I still went ahead by keeping some in my home. No harm give it a try.... I took some bamboo leaves, arranged them on vases, placed them on strategic place at my balcony. I also keep one at the front door. That was in August when I was undergoing my Semester May uni exams. Refer my previous posting.
When my uni exams results were revealed yesterday.....! Checked online...and couldn't believe my eyes. It was a perfect score. All five papers...straight A...s...! Remembered writing nonsensical stuff in my answer sheets, as the questions were tough. I was like 'frying and goreng-ing' whatever I know regardless of facts or opinion. Somehow....I managed to get thru...perfectly. Was expecting C...s....and didn't expect such excellent grades.
This must be the bamboo luck. ..yooohoooo...it actually brought luck to me. I believe in it..totally now. The bamboo must have turned whatever I had written into logical answers. And this seems to be the key to understanding why superstitious actually work wonders.
The bamboo emits some reinforcement effect.....It's ain't easy to maintain a life bamboo plant in door. The leaves may turn yellowish and wither...which messes up the entire floor.
But I need to keep some bamboo plants at home ....and also want to have a hassle free chore. I don't have time to maintain them owing to my tight schedule.
Finally, I found a solution. Am sleeping with bamboo. I have it in my bedroom. permanently regardless of rain or shine.
I persist in my belief enough to think it’s better to have bamboo in my home. And that seems to be the key to understanding why superstitions actually work. Bamboo is known for being a plant that is highly recommended by Feng Shui. It is thought to bring peace and wise energy into the home.
Bamboo represents all the five elements of Feng Shui that enhances the home. As for me, it brings peace of mind with it's beauty, the natural sound it makes as the wind blows. The pleasant green and oval shaped leaves. ....
As my surname comprises of two woods, 林 therefore bamboo suits me well.. I ordered a wall decor stickers online....and this is the results.

Tren Ten-Ten...
10-10-10
It was believed that the Ying and Yang incorporated perfectly on this date. Which means good fortune, good luck and everything good. Everyone seems to liken the idea of having a perfect score. On this date, many singles are rushing to tie the knots (hopefully till death do them apart and not saja saja 'shiok sendiri')...opps excuse me for that semantic.

Hmmm....it's now 9am. Am wondering...what shall I do at that particular dot of 10.10 am later today. How to make it significant so that I could remember it for life...???? Any idea...
BTW, will be going for Dim Sum...how bout eating 10 Thua Paus...or 10 basketful of Siew Mais....and bloated my gastronomy organ..... haha...

Sales-Sales
Our school has just hosted a great fundraising project called "1-Malaysiathon" today.
Both teachers, staffs and parents set up stalls selling various produts...from food to drinks to books...ect. It was a joint venture between the school and the PTA (PIBG in Bahasa Malaysia). Just in case some of you who don't know these acronyms
PTA~Parents Teachers Association
PIBG~Persatuan Ibu Bapa dan Guru
Fortunately the weather was fine and as early as 7.30 a.m. the school was bustling with activities. The objective was to collect as much money as possible to upgrade our school amenities and to run our many projects thru-out the year.
Teachers and parents had a great time manning their stalls selling array of food & drinks. Not only food but several counters selling old clothes, books and exhibitions.
There was also a booth to request songs, which provided 'great' music for the day. Not forgetting the games stalls which was a hit among the students.
Yours truly, took the opportunity to collect some funds to upgrade the library(Pusat Sumber Sekolah) with new curtains, carpets and all. Came up with the idea ... to sell stationery and board games as my target was the students @ children. Days earlier, I made a survey at a nearby wholesale factory which I could purchase cheap "Made in China" stationery and puzzles, board games. Cute Disney cartoons would definitelys attract school children.
True to my words, I managed to clear off ALL my products in less than 2 hours. Managed to a make a little profit (RM200 plus)....hey not bad for a 2 hour sale.
All my efforts were well paid off as I managed to collect a substantial sum which would be use for the upgrading of my library which is in dire need of a new set of curtain and table cloth.
Me and my colleagues had been working very hard to prepare for this big event. It was indeed a very tiring day for all, nevertheless it was for a worthy cause. Had a good time and most importantly mine and our objective was met.

Wet Monday
Outside, the rain was pouring. It was damn comfortable in bed. I did not want to get up, but unfortunately it was a Monday morning. I could see the light of morning coming through my window and I knew I had to get up. Why can’t today be Sunday? I thought. Then I would not need to get out of my warm bed. It was so pleasant here. However, the rain did not care whether it was a Monday or a Sunday. So I reluctantly got up.
After going through the morning routine in my bathroom, I felt a little more alive. The warm bed was still inviting but I had to get ready to go to school. So I dressed up, applied the toner, moisturiser and SPF onto my pale face, my lip gloss, brushed my hair. Picked up my working bag and descended to the kitchen. On my way, I gave Ah Boy his usual wake up call.
Made myself a bowl of oats. And half boiled eggs for Ah Boy. I sat down and helped myself. The noise made by the pouring rain was a bit disturbing. Anyway rain always made me hungry, so I had a hearty breakfast. After 10 minutes, still no sign of Ah Boy. Therefore I began to call out for Ah Boy .....my voice seemed drowned by the pouring rain. Hurry up...we'll be late..... !
Although the time showed seven, the sky was still not very bright. The dark clouds and the pouring rain kept the sky looking drab and grey.
As soon as AH boy slurpping down his milo and eggs.....both of us jumped into my faithful kancil. I drove very carefully. Switched on the headlights and wipers. The wind screen gotten misted up. so I switched on the air cond.
On the way to school, I saw other not-so-fortunate school children and adults walking along the road or waiting for the bus. Each of them had some kind of raincoat on or carried an umbrella. There were puddles of water on the road, by the side of the road, in fact, everywhere. The rain had not stopped and the drains were filled to the brim. Water overflowed onto the road, making it hazardous for the users.
Anyhow we arrived at our schools without any mishaps. The rain had slowed to a drizzle so as soon as I reached Ah Boy's school. He got out of the car....dashed to his classrooms. No assembly today...due to the rain.
I continued the journey to my school. I parked my car and got down. Noticed most of my pupils were soaking wet while others were slightly wet like me.
The school bell rang, And I walked carefully to the classroom. Not even half of the class was present. So I sat down in the class and waited for the others to come. In the meantime, I assigned a few pupils to sweep the floor.
Outside the drizzled still on.
